Literature Text
In our lifetime you said to me
That we would flourish juxtaposed
Our lives would be the luxury
Of dreamers, or so you supposed
In our heart we did believe
That we would dance onto the moon
Our waltz would be the lithe vanguard
Of the revolution coming soon
In our story there would be
We thought, an egress to renaissance
The panorama that I know now
From that is just a slight nuance
We met, together, our golden days
In our youth of idealistic fervor, we
Assaulted society; we would invoke
For all, the resolution of the crimes
The crimes against the individual
The sins against the human sea
Society would fall for these transgresses
We swore by all eternity’s chimes
No one is free, we understood
As long as masses corrupt reason
As long as the few hold the monopoly
On opinion, truth, and understanding
Superficial is the veneer of civilization
So perniciously so that we thought it treason
That fools should elect the order of life
And rule over the wise, constantly demanding
That folly be taught, unalloyed, in schools
That Avarice be established as our god
That Lucifer’s rebellion be our guide
For the meaning of Belial is all to be had
Vindictive, we launched our vendetta
Honoring the footsteps no fool’s hero trod
Against corruption beneath the whole of heaven
Against the institutions of trend and fad
We fought valiantly, I think, contra mundi
Against the reigning progeny of sanctimony
For so shallow were the forces against us
That we crumbled worlds for all we lost
Our revolution was to be our legacy
The renaissance, we thought, our testimony
Despite the persistence of the demons
That rule the world with hearts of frost
I remember now how we dreamed
How right, back then, all had seemed
I recall it all back to my recollection
Whenever I see your paper reflection
I know they say you never were
They say it constantly; ‘There is no her!’
I know they say we never fought
The society their devils wrought
Perhaps they are trying to erase it all
But I see your smile in each white wall
And in this desolate room, I know
We triumphed before I let you go.

I'm not entirely sure how this will come out, so I'll leave the interpretation to the reader...I'll say this, though; pay attention to every detail...
